Description: Originally built in 1954 as a "contemporary" with flat roof, the first house was updated in the 1970s. However, the original structure was dramatically reconstructed in what may be called a "Wrightian" prairie-modern style in approximately 2002. Prairie aspects include the multi-story massing with overall horizontal emphasis. Also typical is the low pitched roofs, with large eave projections, and non-contrasting materials. Characteristic massive features (e.g. the chimney-like column) can also be seen in this restyling. In other Wright inspired examples, carports, like the garages here, are often located at the ends of building wings. The natural setting, remarkable transformation, and retrospective elements, have proved a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
