    Details: Stone quoin work at corners; blind arch panels over first floor windows, south and north wings; three window groupings with flanking columns topped by entablature; carved eagle panel ornament at rook line on north and south wings.

    Significance: Early example of an open court apartment building with 3 stories above an English basement, light tan, smooth brick walls are dressed with large limestone quoins suggesting the Mediterranean, a feature amplified by Spanish Renaissance forms at the entrances and other portions of the building. Ira Saxe, the architect, produced designs for a number of commercial structures during this period.
